Art Space is a working art studio, and a community of artists. We are diverse in our interests, talents and experience. Keyholders have an extraordinary opportunity to share in contributing and benefiting from this ever-evolving group of artists.

You will have access to the facilities 24 hours per day / 7 days a week as your studio, and a small amount of space to store some supplies and works in progress. Studio access may not be available to you during scheduled class times.

Art Space Keyholder Members develop and run a dynamic and diverse class schedule. You will have access to all classes at a reduced membership price.

You will be a voting member of South Padre Island Art Space, helping to grow, direct and support art and Art Space in our community. Voting members also elect Art Space Board of Directors

We are a non-profit 501(c) organization. All payment and donations may be tax-deductible.

Display and sell your work in the Gallery. Retail consignment = 70/30 before taxes. This is the most artist-generous consignment we know of.

A limit of two (2) family members may occasionally accompany a Keyholder at any time. Prior arrangements must be made with the Board for a Keyholder to have more than 2 family members, at a time, accompany them to ArtSpace.


Financial Commitment = $1200/year or $300 quarterly payments + $200 non-refundable deposit due with first installment

Dues payable on the 1st day of each quarter as follows: Jan 1, April 1, July 1, Oct 1 and will be considered late on or after Jan 15, April 15, July 15 and Oct 15. Late payments will be accessed $5/day. Any payment not made within 45 days of the late payment day will result in suspension of any/all Keyholder privileges and access to ArtSpace until all dues and late fees are made current.

All Keyholders must sign a 12-month financial commitment agreement prior to membership acceptance.

The success of SPI Art Space depends on our/your active participation and contribution to improving and promoting the space. Members are expected to commit to help in some of the following ways:


  • Host Saturday Open House 10-1

  • Facilitate workshops by assisting instructors/students with issues/opening/cleaning up/closing the space.

  • Helping with the general maintenance and upkeep of the space.

  • Participating on committees.
